Since the construction of the chateau in the 15th century,
vineyard has always been present on the property

Nowadays, the chateau has a 28 hectares vineyard and produces three different AOC wines under the name “Château de Brissac”:

    Red wines:
        - AOC Anjou Villages Brissac
        - AOC Anjou
     
     Rosé wine:
        - AOC Rosé d’Anjou

"The five century vinegard" was planted in 2002 to celebrate the 500 years of the Cossé family at the chateau. It offers a panoramic viewpoint onto the façades of the chateau.

  • ANJOU VILLAGES BRISSAC :      
    Grape variety: Cabernet franc
The duration of the maturating period in vats is of one year.
Sensory characteristics: It is a deep and strong wine, with a dark ruby red robe and dominating mellow aromas of black fruits, veering to leathery. Tannic body on the palate combined with true finesse. The dark schist soil contributes mineral and earthy undergrowth notes.
This wine will enhance roasts red meats and game.

    
• ANJOU ROUGE :
Grape variety: Cabernet franc (not the same zone of the vineyard as for the Anjou Villages Brissac)
Sensory characteristics: It is a fresh, fruity and very aromatic wine, supple on the palate.
This wine goes well with white meats in sauce and grilled red meats.
• ROSÉ D’ANJOU :
  Grape variety: Gamay and Grolleau
Sensory characteristics: It has a crystal clear robe with glints of salmon pink. It has notes of small red fruits, with a freshness finale of mint and white pepper. This rosé is round and mellow on the palate with a liveliness that compensates for the sweet sensation and refreshes the finish.
This wine goes well with desserts (sweet tarts and fruit salads) or it can be served for aperitif.
